This year, we decided that we’d try to start off the new year with a nice warm week in Florida. As you may have heard, it really wasn’t all that warm (except for the last day!). Nonetheless, we still escaped the snow storms and enjoyed a nice relaxing week.
As always, it was nice to explore a new area with a camera in hand.
Life’s a beach! Yes, it was as cold as it looks.

I wish I could say this is where we stayed.

I think Angela thought she could hide from the wind!

The view from the front seat of an airboat

Desperately trying to stay warm

There were so many of these guys throughout the everglades

Angela’s favourite part of the week was feeding these Ibises

Love the blue eyes

Our walk on the last day started off a little gloomy, but turned into a wonderful day for capturing the uniquely coloured city (as well as some beach wildlife).

Again, not where we stayed ![]()

These Grackles (or Gracklers as we came to call them) were the most aggressive birds we’ve encountered. At one point during a patio lunch, they were trying to grab french fries right out of Angela’s hand!

Awesome haircut

Angela loved chasing these little Sandpipers (I think she wanted to take one home as a pet). It’s kind of funny how these things always run like crazy until the last possible moment to finally take to the air. You’d think that a bird would take advantage of its flight right away.

…leave only footprints

Awesome site and blog very easy to navigate. Your photos are great and shows what a camera can do in the right hands, look forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing
